New brickwork often becomes stained with mortar caused by rain falling on new pointing. Scaffolding plankwork can also cause walls to be splashed by heavy rain which picks up any dirt on the platforms creating a band of dirt visible when the scaffolding is removed.

Mortar stains and scaffold bands were caused by this new brick-work being exposed to rainfall before the mortar joints were able to dry.

Following treatment by JKH Masonry Cleaning the mortar stains and scaffolds bands have been removed, improving brick definition but without causing damage to joints.
